Behind the builder
I’ve been on the shop floor since 2015, turning initial ideas into finished physical reality—by whatever means the project demands. Sometimes that means jumping into 3D and firing up a fleet of 3D printers; other times it means grabbing a chain saw, shaping high-density foam, or laying up epoxies and composites by hand.
As a Local 2 Journeyman and department lead, my background is rooted in fine art, traditional SPFX, commercial shop production and cutting edge technologies. I direct builds from early material estimates and crew leadership through final installation. Whether it’s a massive scenic element for a theme park, a high-visibility float for a televised parade, or a single intricate hero prop built for close-up camera scrutiny, I adapt the pipeline to match the spec, budget, and timeline.
Adaptable Workflow: Digital-to-physical 3D sculpting, CNC routing, and additive manufacturing—balanced with classic hand sculpting, foam carving, and traditional fabrication.
Molding & Casting: Platinum and tin-cure silicones, polyurethane rubber, plastic, and resins, elastomers, slush casting, and multi-part matrixes.
Structural & Surface Finishing: Timber/steel framing, industrial elastomeric/polyurea spray hard-coatings, dual-component coatings, and hand-applied textures, finishes and weathering.
Leadership & Operations: Sculpture Department Lead, crew management, material estimating, OSHA rated safety compliance, and on-site handling/installation.
